Starting in a couple of weeks' time #tobelikeche is a McRenegades first - an epic serial which traces the journey of a young Cuban revolutionary who served alongside Che in the Bolivian campaign.
The serial will run for a whole year, marking the 50th anniversary year of that final fated revolutionary campaign and in the process offering a chance for reflection and a new insight into times gone by.
While you are waiting for the serial to being, you can view an old video (made in the days long before YouTube) Cally Phillips made back in 1999. The quality is poor - technology has moved on, but the irritations of codec compatibility live on - but it may give something of a flavour of Che the man.

8th/9th October 2016 marks the 49th anniversary of the capture and murder of Che Guevara. I made this short film following my first visit to Cuba in 1999. I have had a life long interest in Che Guevara and returned to Cuba in 2006. In 2007 I published a novella, but I've always struggled to put my thoughts and feelings about Che into words.
Now, a decade on from that last visit, I am ready to bring you something new:
#tobelikeche is a project that will run from October 2016 up to the 50th anniversary of the murder on 9th October 2017. It charts a remarkable story and will be published in weekly episodes on McRenegades every Saturday from 29th October 2016 till 8th October 2017 which will mark the 50th anniversary of the capture of Che Guevara. I hope you'll join me for the journey.
